It's a little known fact that Louis Jordan had spent sime time in Minsk in the '30s and in fact was very much insipred by native Byelorussian folk music. Some say that the popular JUMP-BLUES phenomena of the mid/late '40s actually originated at the Minsk Tractor Factory in the winter of 1939.
